How WordPress as CMS: Part One

Though WordPress was originally created as a weblog or blog platform but it is not only a blog platform. Whatever WordPress is so powerful. We can use it create any type of website and use it as a Content Management System (CMS). By using WordPress we can create News or Magazine site, Gallery site, Portfolio site and E-Commerce site etc. For these you can found number of WordPress plugins. But there are same basic thing need to at WordPress Admin Panel and on your theme.

In this Part One i am going to write only the steps which need to do at Admin Panel. Following only three steps need to do at Admin Panel:

1. Create a page named “Home” as startpage or fontpage and give it page order most lowest i mean “0″.
2. Create an empty page named “Blog” as you like. And give it page order most higher like “99″ . There also need to assign the template for this page. Will do later.
3. In Options -> Reading, Form Front page displays select “a static page” radio button. Under it select “Home” for Front page and select “Blog” for Posts page.

That all. Use pages for your contents. And your blog posts will display under “Blog” Page. For example i will request you to visit “eSolutions Road” and this is my first WordPress theme.

I will add a video with those steps later. And will write about cms theme later.
